Arike Ogunbowale

Arike She is an American professional basketball player. She plays for the Dallas Wings Women's National Basketball Association. She played in the NCAA basketball tournament with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, before being drafted by the Wings with the fifth overall pick of the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale's parents Yolanda Ogunbowale & Gregory Ogunbowale were born March 2 1997 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has two brothers Mario (26 year older) and Dare Ogunbowale (20 years old). Since she was the smallest of her siblings, she was the most spoilt by her parents. The father of her Gregory was with the Nigerian Army for quite some period of time. Ogunbowale is from a family that has ties to the sporting world. Her mother Yolanda played softball for DePaul and her brother Dare is a football player. Her aunt was a volleyball player at UAPB as was the cousin Endia Oliver also plays volleyball at Tennessee State. Ogunbowale was as an Honor Roll member at her school for three consecutive years. She also received recognition for her achievements in high school, including various awards. Arike received her diploma from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School located within her own hometown. The school was accompanied by three years playing in varsity. The skills of Ogunbowale led to amazing victories in her school. She has played in 73 appearances and accumulated 1,477 rebounds and 1,477 rebounds during her professional career. Ogunbowale played in 2013 the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship and won Gold medals there. Ogunbowale was selected as one of the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team on July 7, 2014. Ogunbowale is also a member of the ACC All-Freshman Team, after her debut season at a college. Kobe Bryant even thanked her for a number of big shots during the NCCA Tournament.
